Larry Bergner

Larry is an accomplished real estate executive with a diverse background. His 30-year career has included high levels of responsibility and accountability in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments, and extensive experience with development, construction, acquisition, financial modeling, capital markets, and management.

Prior to co-founding Bello, Larry was Senior Vice President of Development at Comstock Partners, a private commercial developer in Northern Virginia. As a member of the executive team, Larry played a significant role in developing millions of square feet of transit-oriented development. Projects included public-private partnerships where Larry was instrumental in balancing the needs of all stakeholders. Noteworthy projects include Reston Station and Loudoun Station along the Metrorail Silver Line. 

Larry has a strong foundation in all aspects of commercial real estate. Prior to joining Comstock Partners in 2006, he held senior positions in construction, acquisitions, asset management, and finance. 

Larry holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University, graduating from both programs with honors. He lives in Sandy Spring, Maryland with his wife and three children. 

Prior to co-founding Bello Realty Partners, Phil was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Comstock Partners, a private commercial developer in Northern Virginia. As a member of the executive team, Phil was charged with strategic planning, development, and management of a five million square foot transit-oriented portfolio. During Phil’s tenure, Comstock Partners entitled 2,500 multifamily units and two million square feet of commercial space, built and stabilized four apartment buildings, and delivered 675,000 square feet of office and retail space.

Before joining Comstock Partners in 2007, Phil was a partner in the Washington DC and Northern Virginia offices of the Reed Smith law firm. He represented clients in development of over one million square feet of transit-oriented properties and more than $1 Billion in closed transactions. Notable projects included representation of a municipal land owner on the Tivoli Theater redevelopment and multiple transactions comprising the Columbia Heights revitalization which received ULI’s Global Award for Excellence.

Phil was raised in Bethesda and graduated from Sidwell Friends in Northwest DC. He holds a B.A. in Government from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law. He lives in Arlington with his wife and three sons.
